I love creative applications and resumes. As a hiring manager in the tourism industry I have seen hundreds if not thousands of resumes come across my desk.
None of them have been anywhere near as creative as Adbrina Saccoccio’s.
Steven Pratt of CBC’s Radio 3 posted The Most Creative Resume I’ve Seen in Years. He writes,
“There’s always a great debate in resume-writing-land about how unique and creative to be with your C.V.You want to stand out from the crowd, but you don’t want to come across as a showboat, an egomaniac, or a weirdo. “
Sabrina’s stands out from the crowd. She’s taken a format that is familiar to most (Facebook) and used it to communicate her unique creative abilities and value for the position she is applying for. View a PDF of her resume here.
A Chance to Shine
If you want to try your hand at writing a creative application, an amazing job has just been posted by Sasha Dichter from the Accumen Fund. If I didn’t have such a cool gig already, I would be all over this.
Sasha is following in the footsteps of Seth Godin in asking interested parties to apply publicly on Squidoo. He’s calling for Amazing leaders to apply. Check it out here or see my Seth Godin MBA Application if you want to see one in action.
Be creative, stand out of the crowd, do something a little risky, you’ll enjoy it and it might even pay off.
