This is a truly powerful video. Watching a gentleman who experienced the pain and sacrifice of war first hand, speak about a topic that has been marginalized and vilified by so many people is sobering.
From the video:
“The woman at my polling place asked me do I believe in equality for gay and lesbian people. I was pretty surprised to be asked a question like that. It made no sense to me. Finally I asked her: what do you think I fought for in Omaha Beach?
I saw[sic] so much blood and guts…and sacrifice for freedom and equality, what made the USA a country worth fighting for.
We must have equal rights for everyone.”
Thank you sir for sharing your story, thank you to the person who captured this on video and thank you to anyone who shares this with their friends.
It’s a story that needs to be told more often.
Thanks for sharing Darren
