allanm – More gas tax and LOWER bus fares would make city travel more efficient in a world with diminishing supplies of easily exploitable energy resources.

MCD in BC – The increase in gas tax doesn’t bother me….I stopped filling up on this side of the border quite a while back, and currently save over 30 cents/litre (after exchange!).

JoeAverage – The mayors rejected a more ambitious plan to raise about $450 million to expand the regional transportation network, including building the proposed Evergreen rapid transit line for the Coquitlam area

So cancel the roof for BC place and do this instead!

  • Well what did you think was going to pay for the Olympic cost overruns? The cities are not getting any of the HST pie after all.
  • Pretty lame for sure. It's like more services are downloaded to the city level while taxes are increased on the provincial level. No good.
