Oh no! Say it ain’t so!

According to the Inquistr “News Corp founder and CEO Rupert Murdoch has told an interview with Sky News Australia that News Corp will likely remove News Corp content from Google.”

Murdoch continued to accuse Google and other online properties of stealing content saying, “The people who simply pick up everything to run with, and steal our stories…they just take them..without payment. That’s Google, Microsoft, Ask.com..a whole lot of people.”

Murdoch on Paying for News

Rupert Murdoch thinks he can make enough revenue with a smaller readership paying subscription fees to make his plan work. If it weren’t for two things he said, I might believe him.

When asked why internet users will all of a sudden start paying money for what they have been receiving as free, Murdoch replied,

“They shouldn’t have been getting it free…we’ve been sleeping. It costs us a lot of money to put together and they’re very happy to pay for the newspaper, if they read it elsewhere they’ll have to pay.”

News for Rupert

Well I’ve got news for you, Mr. Murdoch. We don’t love to pay for your paper. Although we can appreciate the costs of running the organization, we feel that your economies of scale, and the costs associated with it, that were necessary 10 years ago, in many cases are a detriment in today’s media landscape. Lastly, we won’t have to pay, we’ll just go somewhere else.

The next Bill O’Reilly is jumping for joy!

I search “Rupert Murdoch” on Google News and got this. It means something….i just don’t know what.
