Harvey Weinstein and Social Awkwardness: Creating the Jeff Pulver Breakfast

by Jess Sloss on June 23, 2008

jeff pulverDigging into files today and I found a video of a recent discussion that Giant Ant Media’s Leah Nelson and I had with Jeff Pulver at Pulver Breakfast Vancouver.

Jeff Pulver, a VoIP pioneer and Vonage co-founder, travels around the world hosting real social networking breakfasts. Attendees are encouraged to to have a personal tag line and then tag each other in real time based on conversations. I was tagged as “tall” and  “REALLY tall” amongst others.

The Story

Pulver tells how Henry Harvey Weinstein and slight social awkwardness led to the creation real time social networking.

Is real time social networking something that could catch on?  Will you use it at your next event ?
